For this latest detail the customer not only new exactly how he wanted his car to look, but he also knew through past experience exactly which products he wanted us to use.
We were asked by the client to give the vehicle a full paint correction detail , and protect the vehicle internally/externally with a comprehensive gtechniq range of products

The vehicle in question was an Alfa Romeo Giulietta which to be truly honest was already kept in impeccable order by the client.

The car before the paint correction detail

As to all our details the job started with a full ph neutral wash and plush towel dry, followed by a full clay bar decontamination then full sun gun and paint depth inspection,This then gave us an overall idea what was needed to start the paint correction.
SCRATCHES ON THE FRONT BUMPER

We used our festool shinex rotary polisher to start on the cut stage, whilst using several variations of lake country pads and meguires compounds to remove as many deep swirls/scratches etc,
The rear panel  was corrected and the passenger side door shows the defects which typically covered the vehicle
50/50 REMOVING DEFECTS

After a lot of ipa cleansing and testing the paint depth we finally finished the defect removal stage to the highest possible standards achievable, Next up was the paint refining process to remove the buffer trails/surface hologram's,this stage was completed using a combination of our rotary polisher and finished withour rupes bigfoot DA the total hours taken from cut to finish took approx 40 hours.
GTECHNIQ PROTECTION

One final inspection then we were onto the protection procedures! Up first was the Gtechniq C1  which was left for 3 hours before we could apply the second form of protection which was the super hydrophobic Gtechniq Exo , Next up was the Gtechniq C5 wheel armour after these three procedures were completed the car was left for 12 hours to cure correctly.
ON OUR RAMP FOR THE WHEEL REMOVAL

We were back in the workshop the next day to carry on finishing the detail which comprised of a full gtechniq interior protection, then internal external windows with rain repellants fitted, and finally the exhaust and tyres

The completed job took just over 5 days  and the end results were simply stunning!

Range Rover Evoque Gtechniq protection detail

This Range Rover detail was discussed with the new owner several weeks prior to the delivery date to make sure he was getting the correct products for his new pride and joy.
With living away from our studio and also being his daily driver we discussed the pro's and cons of both Gtechniq and mitchell&king products.
The final decision was to go for a Gtechniq protection detail comprising of an exterior C1 coating with glass being treated to a G1 rain repellant and T1 tyre black,The interior was to comprise of a L1 leather guard on all seating door cards dash etc and a C6 uv protector on dash and door cards .

The vehicle arrived at our studio after its initial dealership clean and handover with one very happy looking new owner ( rightly so i must add ) the customer then asked if it was ok to see the pre lim check which comprised of a ph neutral wash and plush towel dry then a full sun gun paintwork inspection.

On inspecting the vehicle we highlighted all the marks and scratches which were due to transportation/storage/ and general poor washing/valeting procedures much to the dismay of the new owner. ( No new vehicle is ever blemish free i must add)

We then began the journey into making this car better than factory finish.
The car was firstly fully decontaminated using a fallout remover and various clay bars,Next up was a full vehicle multi stage paint correction/ refinement to remove unsightly scratches and swirls from the paintwork.

Once this was completed we then gave a full ipa wipe down followed by another vehicle inspection prior to c1 coating.

The C1 coating was then applied and left for a 12 hour curing time,
Next up was the interior which comprised of a full blow out and vac using various attachments and detailing brushes
Once cleaned the L1 and c6 were appplied to protect the interior and the final internal window clean was completed, All interior high gloss trims were waxed for maximum pop.

The external windows were also cleaned with gtechniq glass cleaners and the g1 rain repellant was applied, the wheels were then sealed and the tyres were dressed with T1.

The whole detail took 3 days from start to finish and the car was transformed into what every new car should look like a stunning show piece!!!!!

NEW CAR GTECHNIQ PROTECTION

One of our latest new car protection details was brought to us by a regular customer of our's,he had spotted the car gleaming in the dealership showroom but had also spotted on closer inspection all the fine scratches on the body  due to the poor quality washing/polishing from an externally sourced valeting company!
The dealership and new owner agreed to then allow us to give the car a full paint correction / gtechniq protection detail at the cost of the externally sourced valeting company.
Once the vehicle arrived we gave it our full sun gun and paint depth inspection to see the best way to make the car better than factory finish!
This picture showed one of the most severe scratches on the vehicle

This was the most severe  scratch bieng removed by wet sanding
We had started on the major work which was a multi stage sratch removal comprising of wet sanding and multiple pad/ compound machine polishing whilst constantly anylising the vehicles paintwork.
On completion of the full vehicle scratch removal we then gave the car a Ph neutral wash and plush towel dry as not to induce any more marring to the car.
We then gave the car a full air line blow out to remove all excess water ( a detailers worst enemy lol)
and gave it a full ipa wipe down, this process is to remove all excess compound/polish etc so that under the final sun gun inspection you have the true finish of the vehicle paint work!

Now that all the defects were removed and the vehicle was fully dry we began the protection process Gtechnic C1 crystal coating was the first line of defence for this beauty! we applied this to the vehicle and waited for a few hours for the curing period to start,We then applied the second form of defence which complied of Gtechniq EXO super hydrophobic coating this was applied in two coats then the car was left to fully cure overnight.

We then had the wheel protection which comprosed of full wheel removal deep clean and Gtechniq C5
applied, once fully cured ( overnight again) we then re fitted all the wheels to the manafactures torque settings.

Next in line for this now stunning looking AUDI was a full Gtechniq interior protection and exterior glass rain repellant,The car was fully vac'd and wiped down then a full leather protection system was used Gtechniq L1 leather guard- helps protect against cross contamination from jean dye etc when entering and leaving the vehicle,
We then protected the dash door cards etc with Gtechniq C6 this offers UV protection, all high gloss trims were wax'd up for a stunning finish and windows were cleaned internal and externally.
Last of all was the exterior glass was fitted with Gtechniq G1 rain repellant and the car was ready for hand over, This detail took exactly one week from start to finish, here are the end result pictures

Saturday 25 January 2014

January brought us a brand new Audi Q7 detail,Our customer new exactly how his new pride and joy should be treated after already having previous work done.
On consultation we were told that he had been offered a dealership product to which he knew the car would not endure the same  initial vehicle inspection and  car preperation needed to ensure a better than factory/dealership finish.
On every new car detail there is always a massive amount of prep to do prior to applying protection, All new vehicles have upon inspection, scratches / contamination etc which need to be refined and removed .
The prep for a new car is listed below and can vary depending on customer requirements.
Degrease arches using a fruit oil degereaser
Ph neutral wash using meino wool mits to eliminate vehicle marring
plush towel dry
vehicle paint inspection using our 3m sun gun ( this procedure shows defects and scratches which need refined)
Tape up the vehicle (rubber trims etc to ensure no damage from machine polishing)
multi stage machine polishing to remove defects / scratches whilst constantly monitering the vehicle paint depth.
another Ph neutral wash and towel dry
IPA wipe down to remove machine polishing compounds and oil residue
Final inspection of the paintwork prior to waxing/ceramic coating.

The prep can also include the removal of wheels which are fully cleaned and decontaminated ready for wheel armour coatings/ sealent waxes.

After all the prep was completed we first added the armour coating Gtechniq C5 to the wheels and re fitted them to the vehicle using the manafactures torque settings,( these are then left for a 12 hour curing period)

The vehicle paint was then coated with a Gtechniq C1 crystal coating to ensure maximum protection, this was also left to cure for 12 hours

The vehicle interior was next, all carpets were vacuum cleaned, blown out ,and a re vac
leather was protected using Gtechniq L1.
Plastics were protected with Gtechniq c6 to provide uv protection
internal external glass was cleaned and polished then an external rain repellant gtechniq G1 was fitted, this offers a 2year/ 30,000 mile protection
The final parts to the completion of the vehicle were runing boards needed polished and protected as did the exhaust tips, then finally condition the tyres.

Here are some photos of the vehicle detail
